Alisher Mirzaev

Alisher MirzaevBorn in 1948, Alisher Mirzaev occupies a leading role among artists in Uzbekistan. He is internationally well-known, having had exhibitions in several European countries: Germany, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, and frequently Moscow. As a young artist, Alisher studied art in Moscow. There he learned to go beyond the Soviet mandated themes of "earth realism" and collectivism. He remains today a truly expressive artist,, using bright colors and bold paint strokes. Mirzaev loves red. He says the color red "symbolizes optimism for life."
